African Bronze : "head Of Ife"

African bronze: "Head of Ifé", lost wax bronze with black patina 30 X 7 X 10 cm. If this type of bronze with a naturalistic treatment has been documented since the tenth century in Nigeria, especially among the Yorubas, it is still being made for tourists today. This one looks a bit older to me than what is usually found on the market, the carving of better quality and, although it has some gaps, the black patina is very nice. The traditional high hairstyle, the interlacing patterns of the base and the beauty of the features make it an extremely decorative piece.
