Bread cutter: Pediment board carved with the head of a man with an open move, with a devouring appetite (perhaps Gargantua), emphasizing the good freshly cut bread to eat. Wrought iron blade with scalloped rivet has a wooden handle. It is articulated on an axis treated in volute, mounted on a perforated plate, decorated with engraved foliage. Origin: German-speaking countries (Alsace) of the 18th century. Good general condition, with traces of use, some cracks in the wood, old xylophages, and additions of wood leg. Length 78 cm, width 35 cm.
