Berliner System Mobile Phone "Seeking to respond to the growing concern of the public confronted with the spread of certain contagious diseases, notably tuberculosis, the inventors are designing bold forms. The" aerophone "type handset, or hygienic handset, is supposed to avoid any contact and therefore a possible transmission of microbes. This telephone, built in 1910 by the French Telephone Company, has a Berliner system. Its base, in molded wood with cavets, rests on four claw feet.
