"Lxvi Style Half-moon Dresser."
Louis XVI style half-moon chest of drawers with marquetry decoration. It opens with three belt drawers, without visible crosspieces, allowing the front to be completely released. The decor is rosewood veneer and violet wood patterns (and rosewood for the frames. feet finished with bronze clogs. The royal Belgian red marble follows the contour of the facade. For the time: Certain elements indicate a production of the XXth century such as the fasteners of the pull rings, the hinges, the wood cutouts , the absence of traces of seniority. Concerning the stamp, the JME mark is only on period furniture (second half of the 18th century). However, it may be a mark affixed a posteriori on a board. old (old saw marks, wormholes on this board) or brought back from another piece of furniture, possibly following a major restoration.
