Chinese Kangxi Green Family Vase, Qing Dynasty
Superb enamel vase of the Green Family decorated with two dragons among the clouds in pursuit of the sacred pearl above the waves.
The floral decorations as well as each element of the physiognomy of the two dragons are described here in great details.

In the nineteenth century there was a strong current of resumption of the most beautiful models of the Green Family of the reign of Kangxi. The vases in particular, executed with extreme care, were as much if not more intended for the Chinese domestic market than for the export market to Europe, as their models executed in the eighteenth century had become rare and priceless. Our vase is a great example !
