Cane-bottom armchair in molded, carved and waxed beech wood with elegant and nervous lines of curviform shape. Flat back to the queen violin with double shoulder, wide and sinuous seat, armrests with leather-wrapped cuffs, flared and notched, nerve consoles with gallant recess, belt all in play of curves and against plunging curves, scalloped and molded resting an arched base punctuated with natural acanthus leaf for the front legs and consoles for the hind legs. Beautiful harmony of fine and generous moldings with well-marked sinuosities of wide gorges topped with carved cartels at the top of the backrest and in the center of the belt cross member; Falling foliage at the ridge of the forelegs as well as on the shoulders of the backrest and on the side rails of the belt. Large high backrest and deep hospitable seat sheathed in chocolate leathers give this chair a fine balance between charm and comfort suitable for an office chair. It should be noted the great care taken to the connecting elements of an irreproachable quality. Balance, nervousness and elegance are the most appropriate terms for this very beautiful cane-bottom chair of very good quality. Parisian work attributable to FRC Reuze master Parisian cabinetmaker from the Louis XV period. François Reuze was received master on July 20, 1743, died in Paris on March 17, 1799. This craftsman had the honor of helping to furnish Queen Marie-Antoinette for the Petit Trianon and received orders for the court of Sweden. Observations: Good condition, woodwork without grafts or finger joints, original caning racket frames. Restoration of use and maintenance, in particular cane redone.
