Large pewter vase with dark patina representing a man and two women during the harvest: the man is standing, drinking, one of the women is breastfeeding her child and the second is harvesting the wheat. T

he neck is decorated with sheaves of wheat.

Vase signed Larroux and bearing the Siot-Fondeurs stamp

Antonin Larroux (1859-19312) is a French sculptor who regularly participated in the Salon des Artistes Français where he was awarded several medals; one of his favorite subjects was peasant life (he sculpted many "sower", "gleaner" and other "grape harvesters" ...)
