Sculpture - Splieth - Man on horseback - Black Bronze - 1919 - 17 x 47 x 47cm Ref. Book p.296 Art-Déco & Other figures - Bryan Catley. His life's work was honored by the opening of a Splieth Museum in his hometown of Elbing in 1929, shortly after his death. This project was led by Heinrich's wife, Berta Splieth, who made all the exhibits available to the museum. The museum and its inventory were completely destroyed during the war, so that in many cases only pictorial evidence of Heinrich Splieth's work remains. Some smaller works are privately owned. According to current knowledge, the only major surviving works are the Ellinger Fountain in Wriezen (1923), the Moschel family mausoleum in Angermünde (1913), the (damaged) war memorial in Braunsberg (before 1920), and a copy of the Adoration of the Shepherds (commissioned by the Crown Princess). Several smaller works can be found at the East Prussian State Museum in Lüneburg.
He received numerous awards and prizes for his work.
