Anton Büschelberger
Büschelberger comes from a family of artists. His father Georg Friedrich Christian was already a sculptor. In 1870, the Eger family moved to Neuses near Cobourg. Anton Büschelberger moved to the artistic metropolis of Munich, where he studied at the Academy of Arts. He then moved to Dresden and in August 1899 married Anna Seibt. The marriage gave birth to four sons, including Friedrich Büschelberger, who imitated his father and also became an artistic sculptor.

The center of his artistic activity were realistic sculptures of animals, which he often had in bronze. He obtained models for animal sculptures at the Dresden Zoo, where he filled countless sketchbooks with drawings. For many years Büschelberger worked freelance for the porcelain manufacturer Karel Enz in Thuringia Rudolstadt-Volkstedt. This cooperation ended in 1931, when the manufacture was hit by the economic crisis.

Today, Anton Büschelberger's works are often found in German art auction houses. Anton Büschelberger's tomb can be found at the Johannisfriedhof in Dresden.
