Object description :

"Rare Complete Catalog Of 20 Sketches Of A Collection Of Evening Dresses"
20 creations / models of Winter 1926/1927 evening dresses on 12 plates edition "Treffet, Stein, Reifenberg 31, Rue du Louvre Paris". In its original pouch. In perfect condition. Incredibly contemporary. Everything is there. The presentation, the descriptions up to the color chart ... (We voluntarily present only 3 boards so as not to see the complete Collection reproduced without it having been purchased!) After the First World War, French women began to emancipate. Many are widowed and therefore forced to work. They want freedom and want to be comfortable in their clothes. After wearing black for 4 years, they want color and modernity. Sports, leisure and travel are also democratizing, developing the demand for comfortable outfits. Fashion was then inspired by the Art Deco artistic movement with its geometric and refined shapes. The fashion of the 1920s marked the golden age of couturiers. Young and old. The Prêt à Porter does not yet exist and French women dress to measure. The woman of the 20s loves Chanel, Lanvin, Patou ... and wants to make her new silhouette slimmer. She wears short boyish hair and the mythical "shirt dress" as in these 20 sketches ... Evocation of France between the wars, the Soierie Lyonnaises and the Reifenberg mansion. A place created by the architect Mallet Stevens in the very chic XVIth arrondissement of Paris with its legendary entrance hall. Precious documentation on the History of Fashion in Paris at the dawn of its hundredth anniversary! Sketch format 16 by 24.5
