Herring and the precence of the W as a signature suggests that it is a pseudonym of Elsie Ward Hering. American artist, wife of New York sculptor Henry Hering. Elsie Ward Hering is the author of numerous decorative objects designed in bronze or pewter, in a pure 1900 style, imbued with delicacy and grace.
