Very important chest of drawers "Vernis Martin" in the style of Mathieu Criaerd. The dresser resembles in decoration that important chest of drawers by Mathieu Criaerd at the Louvre Museum. There is also a corner in this genre. The construction is typically piedmontese and the top is "Giallo di Siena". According to all the research it is inspired by this work by Criaerd, probably a Piedmontese creation. The kingdom of Savoy is based on Parisian fashion and entirely influenced by the international taste of this city. The chest wears Parisian bronzes, the clogs, wrists and locks are gilded with mercury. The lacquer shows an authentic craquelure and it has a patina corresponding to the age of this dresser. For additional questions do not hesitate to ask. Prob. Turin around 1750
