Rare ceramic lamp by Guillaume Met de Penninghen (1912 - 1990)

Circa 1960
Free-form lamp in water green enamelled ceramic, of large proportions.
Signed and numbered 303 hollow under the base and presence of a label with handwritten numbers.
Beautiful rounded shapes for the upper part of this lamp, contrasting with the rectilinear scarifications of the base.
Very good general condition, functional electrification, 3 micro-égrenures on the edge of the base.

Guillaume Met de Penninghen is a Belgian painter, ceramist and sculptor.
After studying painting and sculpture at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, he won the gold medal at the International Ceramic Exhibitions in 1961 in Cannes and in 1963 in Pragues.
In 1968, he founded and became Director of the Penninghen School of Graphic Arts, now called ESAG.
