"Born in 1931 in the Marne, Robert Pérot trained at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Reims from 1946 to 1949 (sculpture section) where he met Jean-Claude Malarmey and Dominique Baudart. Working with stone, the young man participated in the restoration of Reims Cathedral. Gifted in drawing, he attended the Grande-Chaumière Academy, then joined the Champagne-Provence earthenware factory as head of the molding workshop. In Vallauris, he joined Jean Rivier's studio. In 1952, he was present at the "Painters and Sculptors" exhibition around Picasso and Pignon. In 1953, he participated in the exhibition of the Union of Plastic Arts for Peace around Picasso. It was at this time, in 54, in the city of a hundred potters, that he decided to acquire an old oil mill, renamed the Old Mill, which he transformed into a ceramics workshop and store. He was joined by Jean-Claude Malarmey and Dominique Baudart. Roger Collet also passed through this workshop."
