Service à Thé & Café Christofle Art Déco 1930
Rare Art Deco period tea & coffee service (circa 1930) in silver metal, " Gallia Christofle ", 5 pieces. Hollow ribbed model made in 1925 by designer Cazès for the "Gallia" house. The handles and buttons are in ebony. This model was presented in 1925 at the Decorative Arts exhibition. The absence of ornamentation will allow the search for new solutions during the interwar period. Technically the hollow rib decoration is very difficult to achieve. The Gallia goldsmith's hallmark as well as the model number 5853, listed in the house catalog, is affixed to each piece of the service. Micro-scratches from use. Excellent general condition.
