Gaston Suisse (1896 - 1988) who is one of the greatest artists of the Art Deco period. Exceptional polychrome gold lacquer panel, enriched with bronze powder, signed lower right. Rare decoration at Gaston Suisse, presenting a naked woman (Amazon) archery on antelopes, in a luxuriant backdrop of an exotic landscape. Dated by Dominique Suisse around 1922 from photos of his father's workshop, which has remained in the family ever since. Provenance: French collection. Old American collection.
