This drawing is undoubtedly one of the preparatory drawings for the book "Voyage dans le levant" by the Comte de Forbin. Paris Imprimerie Royale, 1819, a beautiful lithographed plate was taken from it (one of 80 of the book printed in 325 copies). It is noted that the character on the right has been rectified for the final draw.
