Oil on canvas from the 30s or 40s, signed lower left in its original frame, Dimensions: With the frame: Length: 75.5cm Height: 64.5cm Without frame: Length: 61cm, Height: 50cm Léonie Humbert- Vignot, French painter born in 1878 in Lyon and died in 1960 in the same city. Léonie Humbert-Vignot has been passionate about art from a very young age. Around 1896, she was a student of Alexandre François Bonnardel (1867-1942) at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Lyon, then of Marie Laforge, Marcel Baschet, Henri Royer and Édouard Toudouze at the Académie Julian in Paris. She began her exhibitions from 1896, both in Lyon and in Paris. It was also accepted in the salons of French artists around 1908, and will remain there all his life. From 1918, she exhibited regularly at the Salon Lyonnais des Beaux-arts (SLBA) Impressionist painter, she painted mainly nudes, portraits, landscapes or flowers. She received the first Lyon medal in 1908 and then in 1910, the medal of honor as well as the Paris medal and the prize of the state of Paris (and this during the same year). In 1913 she will receive for the first time the gold medal of Paris. The Musée des Beaux – Arts de Lyon has acquired three of his works.
