Nelly Leclercq (1902-1960).
Belgian painter. Studied at the Academy of Brussels. Nelly Fernande Guiche married the painter Victor Leclercq in 1929 and therefore signed Nelly Leclercq. They settled in Boitsfort in 1930. The couple will welcome a little Juan in 1936 during the Spanish Civil War who will live with them for three years. From 1940 and the invasion of Belgium by the Germans, they will protect many Jewish children, and will host secret meetings of communist resistance fighters.
Victor Leclercq was arrested in 1943 and died in 1945.
Nelly Leclercq moved towards abstraction in the 1950s.
