"Lower Normandy Library, Late 18th Century / Early 19th Century"
Lower Normandy library, late 18th / early 19th century. Norman oak wedding wardrobe formerly modified in a library. The rounded front uprights are carved with grooves and rudent, carved with pearls, foliage and flowers. They end with arched feet carved with acanthus leaves. The two front crosspieces are finely carved with rows of pearls, ribbons, foliage, flowers, drapes, knots, pompoms ... The pelican is composed of a dove and a large bouquet of fruits and flowers, all placed on a jar. The overhanging cornice is carved with raisin, oves, twisted ribbon and acanthus leaves. The doors are decorated on the top of plumes with acanthus leaves and horns of plenty. The central medallions are delicately decorated with motifs with attributes of gardening, flowers and vine branches. The two glass doors reveal an interior painted red composed of six adjustable shelves on racks. Brass lock of functional origin with its key.
