Japanese Cabinet In Lacquer Gold XIX
Important Japanese cabinet in gold lacquer and tinted with various colors, the doors decorated with landscapes, mountains and streams, volcanoes, birds, phoenix, dragons, flowers ... The interior doors are also decorated with lacquer figures, the trimmings probably in money. This piece of furniture bears a signature in the decor of the interior of one of the doors (see photos). The door angles1 are decorated with the coat of arms or mon of the Tokugawa clan. This cabinet is in very good condition, some rare small chips are to be noted, the colors and the gold having kept an exceptional freshness.
