Important Neo Renaissance Fireplace Mantel From The 19th Century In Carved Walnut
Superb Renaissance style fireplace mantel in very richly carved walnut composed of two large columns with Ionic capitals, on the front a beautiful frieze carved with fantastic animals, leaves, baskets and fruit bowl, surmounted by a lion's head. On the upper part two lateral pedestals and a central one intended to receive vases, bronzes or other trophies.
Beautiful heart in molded brass.
Back frame in solid rosewood (very heat resistant wood).
