Pedestal Table
Modeled after the pedestal tables of the First Empire, this piece dates from the Restoration period, circa 1830–1840. Rising from a trefoil base, the slightly truncated conical shaft, encircled by chiseled and gilded bronze, supports a rimmed top without a recess. Beneath the glass top, the surface features a gouache painting on paper depicting a radiating design of arcades, rosettes, and palmettes, surrounded by an abundant cascade of blooming flowers.
