Large and beautiful painting signed by Amédée de Ternante-Lemaire (Chatillon Sur Seine July 18, 1821 - Nice September 28, 1900). It represents a camp for Bohemians. Amédée de Ternante-Lemaire dit Lemaire de Ternantes is a painter of genre and French history, pupil of Jean-Pierre Alaux. He began in 1849 and participated in many salons including that of 1857 where he presented a "Saint Geneviève healing a blind man" bought by Napoleon III and offered to the church of Bellême. Some of his works are included in the Louvre Museum (Full-length portrait of Marie de Medici), the Museum of Versailles (Portrait of Joan of Austria and Portrait of Marie de Rohan), the French Embassy in the Vatican, etc. Our table measures 1m17 x 91 cm (With Frame) and 92 cm x 65 cm (Canvas only). Very good condition and beautiful period frame with its original gilding.
