Little Child - Jean Born (robj) (1908 - 1922)

Small sitting child, enamelled black ceramic, signed Robj, under the terrace. Paris, time 1925-30. The Robj manufacture was created in 1908 by Jean Born, whose anagram it forms. After the accidental death of Jean Born in 1922, the case was taken over by Lucien Willemetz and took off, to the point of obtaining a bronze medal at the exhibition of Decorative Arts in 1925. In 1927, Robj knows a franc success in the contest: "ceramic art trinkets". Artists such as Pompon, Landowsky and Dufrène will take part in this competition, as well as the curator of the Musée Galliera and the administrator of the Mobilier National.
