Large Miniature On Ivory After Winterhalter
Great miniature signed, exceptional quality, representing the Empress Eugenie surrounded by her ladies of honor at the Palace of Fontainebleau. The original painting by the painter Franz Xavier WINTERHALTER (1805 - 1873) in 1855 measures 300 x 420 cm; he occupied the place of honor at the Universal Exhibition which took place the same year. It is kept at the Château de Compiègne.
