Important applique cartel and lamp-head in lacquered red wood, of curved shape in which is a dial with twelve enamelled cartridges with Roman numerals and Arabic numerals, signed Causard Edmé-Jean, clockmaker of the King following the Court, ( 1720-1780), one of the most important Parisian watchmakers of the reign of Louis XV. He surrounds himself then with the most talented cabinetmakers for the creation of his clocks, installs his workshop rue Saint Honoré in Paris. Beautiful ornamentation of gilt bronze rocaille surmounted by a bird. The wire movement has been perfectly restored by a specialist. It sounds the hours and the half. Eighteenth century.
