Oil On Canvas By Evariste Luminais

Beautiful painting of the 19th century, it is an oil on canvas framed by Évariste Luminais (1822-1896). The painting shows a young red-haired Gaul wearing a metal helmet with two small feathers, dressed in a gray top, blue trousers, a red apron and a blue and yellow belt. The young Gaul sounds a bugle, while riding a white horse, with mane, tail, hind legs and hind legs. The horse is passing the ford of a river, we can notice in the distance a dog running after the horse. In view of its details we can deduce from the title of the painting that would be "The passage of ford" sold several times in the early 20th century.
