A patinated bronze statuette representing the young faun playing the flute leaning on a column, the shoulder covered with a lion's skin. It rests on a pedestal in red marble and gilded bronze. Work by F. Barbedienne (signed on the plinth at the back) circa 1850, after a model in marble of Paros dating from the first half of the 2nd century AD, and acquired by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1810 at Villa Borghese (today at the Louvre Museum). Very good condition (some small chips on the marble base). Total height: 31.5 cm X Width: 11.5 X Depth: 11.5 cm.
