Great Pardon Watercolor Of Ernest Guérin Châteaulin

Belle is a large watercolor illuminated by the hand of Ernest Guérin depicting the Pardon of Notre Dame de Châteaulin. Signed and dated 1912 lower right. This work, belongs to a cycle of watercolors surrounded by ink, made between 1912 and 1913. Writings, richly illuminated frame the drawings in a frieze of medieval inspiration. These subjects, relatively rare in the work of Guérin (about twenty) will not be repeated later in such important formats. This work was exhibited at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Rennes during the retrospective exhibition of 2002. The dimensions of the work are 40/60 cm with the frame: 63/82 cm
