Born September 12, 1902 in Algiers

Student at the Beaux-Arts d'Alger under Pierre Frailong and Léon Cauvy. Student at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris, he was awarded a scholarship to Casa Velasquez in 1933.

On his return, he exhibited at the Galerie du Minaret, took part in the Salons des Orientalistes Algériens, and the Expositions artistiques de l'Afrique Française.

Grand Prix Artistique de l'Algérie in 1937. Professor at the Beaux-Arts d'Alger from 1937 to 1945.
He executed several mural decorations, including one for the foyer of the Algiers Opera in 1938. He was a member of the Indépendants from 1956 to 1968. After 1962, he moved to Montreuil, where he exhibited abstract works with geometric tendencies:

Auguste Harzic, who never ceased to be interested in sacred art from all eras and all latitudes, was in search of a secret: that of producing a work of art devoid of all transcendence, but by the very nature of its immanent plastic qualities able to convey with new intensity man's place in the universe.

In the 70s, he produced shimmering, rigorous works like the beginnings of a humanist alchemy, magnified by beauty.
