JEAN BAPTISTE OUDRY: (Paris, March 17, 1686-Beauvais, April 30, 1755) was a painter, engraver and tapestry designer of the French Rococo. He is best known for his animal works and hunting scenes.
NICOLAS THE ARGUILIERE: (Paris, 1656-ID, 1746) French painter. He studied painting in Antwerp and London, where he worked with P. Lely. Already in Paris (1682) he became the portraitist of the big bourgeoisie. He is the author of the history and paintings of still life, in which the Flemish influence is appreciated. Among his works, it is interesting to highlight the beauty of Strasbourg (1703), Maria Clementina Sobieski and, especially, paintings of religious theme (advisers of Paris imploring in Sainte-Geneviève, 1696).
JAQUES NICOLAS TARDIEU: was born on September 2, 1716 in Paris. He is the son of Marie-Anne Horthemels and Nicolas-Henri Tardieu, both engravers. He was taught by his father, who was recognized as one of the most prominent engravers of France produced. He is received at the French Academy on October 24, 1749 for his engraved portraits of good Boullogne (after Gilles Allon) and Lorrain (after Donat not notte). He becomes an ordinary engraver of the king (official engraver of the king) and is also described as an ordinary engraver of the elector of Cologne. Tardieu married two printing companies, Jeanne-Louise-Françoise Duvivier and Élisabeth-claire Tournay. Jeanne-Louise is on record as having made several engravings. His father, Jean Duvivier, and his brother, Pierre-Simon-Benjamin Duvivier, were both engravers of medals, members of the Academy and engravers of the king (engravers of the king).
