Engraving By Max Ernst Surrealist (andré Breton – Lautréamont)
Artist: Max Ernst
Isidore Lucien Ducasse, better known by his pseudonym of Comte de Lautréamont, is an author, poet and writer. In 1868, he anonymously published the first of the "Chants de Maldoror"; the complete work was printed in Belgium a year later and signed Comte de Lautréamont. In this work, after an introduction by André Breton, we discover illustrations by Victor Brauner, Oscar Dominguez, Max Ernst, Espinoza, René Magritte, André Masson, Matta Echaurren, Joan Miro, Wolfgang Paalen, Man Ray, Kurt Seligmann, Yves Tanguy. Our engraving is the same, although perhaps a little larger, as the one in this work.
