The canvas is signed lower right. Rudolf Friedrich Kurz is a Swiss painter and writer born in Bern on January 8, 1818 and died on October 16, 1871. He travels to the United States of America, notably along the Missouri for six years and from Mississippi. It is exhibited at the Bern History Museum.
