Writing Table Louis XV Period By Jean Demoulin, Master In Paris In 1749
Elegant rectangular writing table in solid mahogany and mahogany veneer, opening laterally by a compartmentalized drawer, straight belt with rounded masses on a slightly cambered pentagonal base. Flat top with rounded corners according to the profile of the base, framed highlight, wrapped in a black leather of gilded origin with small irons. Beautiful ornamentation of entry and key lock and foliage clogs in gilded bronze. The stamp of J.Demoulin and jurande master of Paris JME are struck under the longitudinal crossbar.
Jean Demoulin (August 13, 1715 - July 2, 1798) master in Paris in 1749 He obtained with his sons, on September 22, 1781, the patent of cabinetmakers of the Prince of Conde.
Parisian work about 1750-1755 in a perfect state of conservation without any restorations; Only the varnish was redone. Balance, purity, nervousness, elegance and quality are the most appropriate terms for this very beautiful coffee table.
