Robert (1930–2008) and Jean CLOUTIER (1930–2015)
Twin brothers, Jean and Robert Cloutier supplemented their training at the Meaux School of Ceramics by working in various Parisian studios, notably those of Georges Jouve (1910–1974) and later Pol Chambost (1906–1983). In 1965, they established their own studio at 53 Rue de Reuilly in Paris. They focused on tableware design.Their artistic exploration led them to work on wall architecture and interior design, innovating with latticework walls. In 1972, they moved to Vinneuf in the Yonne department, then to Marsillargues in the Languedoc region in 1977. They then exhibited their work in their gallery in Lunel.
The Cloutier brothers contributed to the revival of French ceramics in the 1950s by creating a dreamlike world all their own.
