Large Extendable Round Table

Extendable round table
in solid walnut,
Veneto, mid-19th century.
The table features four solid turned legs
typical of 19th-century Venetian craftsmanship.
It features a central opening system
that allows for the insertion of two 50 cm extensions,
transforming the tabletop from round to
a comfortable oval shape to accommodate more diners.
The internal sliding rails were
completely replaced during the restoration
since the originals were no longer salvageable,
thus ensuring perfect and smooth opening.
The table comes complete with two antique extensions
in fir wood (not original to the table but vintage).
The excellent proportions of the band ensure a comfortable seat,
leaving a generous 65 cm of legroom.
