Pair Of Copper Car Lamps From 1900
Artist: Lampes Hirondelles
A very beautiful pair of automobile lamps, complete with their original wrought-iron mounts. These lamps were acetylene-powered and made of copper; they show no signs of deformation (no damage!). Each bears a nameplate from the lighting manufacturer Hirondelles. This type of lamp, which was originally used on horse-drawn carriages, was gradually adopted by the first automobile bodybuilders. Beyond restoring them to their original use, these lamps could be repurposed as wall sconces?
