Bell-shaped Inkwell

An elegant small inkwell from the Empire period, crafted in the early decades of the 19th century from mercury-gilded bronze. The piece stands out for its original bell-shaped form, embellished with rich, finely chiseled decorative motifs.
The conical lid, adorned with floral and plant motifs in relief, is topped by an elegant ring-shaped knob, while the cylindrical body features a refined geometric engraved decoration. The circular base, embellished with an ornamental band featuring leaf motifs, lends balance and harmony to the piece as a whole.
The exquisite mercury gilding highlights the craftsmanship and decorative richness of the piece, an expression of neoclassical taste and the refined production of desk accessories from the Napoleonic period.
A small decorative art object of great charm, ideal for enriching a collection of antique bronzes or embellishing a period desk.
