Antique Polychrome Wooden Rocking Horse – 19th Century

A beautiful antique rocking horse made of carved and polychrome wood, dating from the 19th century.
This charming piece features superb polychrome coloring in shades of burgundy red, ochre yellow, green, and black, with painted decorations and particularly ornate carved details. Its carved black mane and tail, ornate saddle, and harness give it a striking presence and an authentic character.
The horse rests on its blackened wooden rocking base, which retains its original patina.
Shows signs of age; one ear has been reattached.
