unsigned
printed in Manuel Robbe’s studio in Montmartre
and printed by Raymond Jacquet in Paris in 1955.
Engraving in excellent condition
Presented in a modern frame, suitable for hanging or display
Dimensions of the view : 17.5 x 12.5 cm
Dimensions of the frame : 27.5 x 22.5 cm
Charles Samson uses here the engraving technique known as “drypoint” (named after the tool used), which is similar to, that is, intaglio engravings on metal. The tool used does not carve deep grooves, but rather scratches the surface of the metal plate, allowing for a delicate intaglio design that closely resembles a pencil sketch.
