Erick Belasco Cahuzac Abstract Ceramic Plate, Vallauris, La Bergerie Céramiques, Ref1216

Artist: Erick Belasco Cahuzac

This large ceramic dish was created by Erick Belasco–Cahuzac, listed in “La Bergerie Céramiques” in Vallauris.

Circa 1975–1980.

It features his unique shades of blue and colorful paintings on a yellow and beige background, with a glaze effect creating a particularly expressive and colorful abstract design.

The composition blends a deep blue with a luminous yellow background, punctuated by touches of green, red, and black, as well as graphic motifs and free-form shapes characteristic of Vallauris artistic ceramics from the second half of the 20th century.

The reverse side features several particularly interesting inscriptions:

    BC monogram

    Handwritten inscription “Vallauris”

    Dedication “To my friend Maurice”

A mark that appears to read “1/1,” which may indicate a one-of-a-kind piece

A small additional mark that may correspond to a date or studio number

The piece has a hanging mechanism, confirming its intended use as wall decor.

It makes a beautiful statement on the wall and is a particularly appealing piece due to its decoration, signature, and personal dedication.
