André-Émile Planson was a French painter born on April 10, 1898, in La Ferté-sous-Jouarre and died on September 29, 1981, in Neuilly-sur-Seine.
After receiving guidance from Paul Meslé, a local painter, he studied at the Académie Ranson (1917–1919) in Paris. Together with Roland Oudot, Maurice Brianchon, Christian Caillard, Roger Limouse, and Raymond Legueult, he formed the group known as the Painters of Poetic Reality. He was a member of the Academy of Fine Arts (1960).
This artist’s works are primarily housed at the André Planson Museum in La Ferté-sous-Jouarre.
Pierre Mac-Orlan has written an essay about him.
We have another work—a lithograph—by this artist, whom we greatly admire.
