Mazarin Desk
A late 17th-century Mazarin desk made of Thuya burl veneer, ash burl, olive, and olive end grain, as well as amaranth, violet wood, and ribbon-grained satinwood. It features seven drawers set into a curved front, arranged in two side compartments and a central drawer running the width of the piece, as well as a central door opening onto a niche. The top features a rich geometric design of lozenges in amaranth, olive burl, and thuja burl. Chiseled and gilded bronze lock plates. A magnificent piece.
