Hans Kögl is considered one of the leading figures in German decorative lighting and furniture design of the second half of the 20th century. His name is particularly associated with exceptional lighting designs inspired by the plant world.
With their opulent formal language, these objects blur the boundaries between functional furniture, decorative sculpture, and artistic craftsmanship.
His designs exemplify a trend in European interior design that deliberately moved away from the austerity of functionalism. Instead, this movement placed ornamentation, the richness of materials, and representative elegance at the center of its aesthetic.
