French Louis-philippe Console Table, Second Half Of The 19th Century – Carved Walnut With A Marble Top
Elegant French console table in the Louis-Philippe style, from the second half of the 19th century, crafted from walnut with a warm golden hue, featuring a veined gray marble top and a drawer beneath the top.
The marble top, with its contoured and undulating profile, rests on a curved apron, embellished in the center by a rich cartouche carving featuring flowers and leaves, finely handcrafted. The under-top drawer, with its clean, smooth front, highlights the beauty of the wood’s grain.
The piece is supported by two imposing double-volute legs, richly carved with plant and floral motifs, and by two sabre-shaped rear elements. The legs are joined by a contoured base shelf, which lends stability and a sense of height to the composition.
