A 1952 graduate of the Brussels Academy, his first building immediately won the Ven Prize for Architecture in 1955
At the 1958 World’s Fair, he designed the International Red Cross Pavilion and the Transportation Pavilion (in collaboration with Robert Courtois, Henri Montois, and others), which won the Reynolds Memorial Award from the American Institute of Architects.
