Art Deco Pendant Light By Degué, France, Circa 1925
Art Deco chandelier by Degué, consisting of a hexagonal bowl made of pressed glass with embossed patterns, typical of the famous French manufacturer founded by David Guéron, a leading figure of the Art Deco movement.
The satin finish on the glass enhances the relief of the decoration and accentuates its luminous effects.
The bronze structure features more elaborate and less geometric lines that reflect Art Nouveau influences.
The structure was originally silver-plated. However, during the restoration, it was decided to completely strip the plating to restore the bronze’s natural golden hue, which was deemed to harmonize better with the design and decorative motifs of the metal structure.
Excellent overall condition. There is a single, very minor flaw: in one corner of the bowl, a small, old scratch has locally removed the satin finish, leaving a small shiny area. This imperfection is discreet, with no cracks, and does not affect the aesthetic or functional quality of the chandelier.
