A Half-moon Console Table Made Of Carved And Gilded Wood In The Louis XVI Style, Dating From The Late 19th Century.
A very elegant half-moon console table in carved and gilded wood, in the Louis XVI style, dating from the late 19th century, featuring fine craftsmanship and rich, neoclassically inspired carved decoration.
This charming console table rests on two tapered, fluted legs, adorned with foliage rings and carved motifs, ending in small turned feet.
The particularly decorative apron is richly carved with foliage scrolls, scrollwork, and ornamental friezes, arranged around a central oval medallion accented with pearls and volutes. The connecting blocks are embellished with finely carved rosettes.
At the base, the two legs are joined by a sinuous crossbar, adorned with garlands of cascading laurel leaves, framing a superb central antique-style fire pot, surmounted by a carved flame, a particularly refined decorative element that lends the piece great elegance and lightness.
It is topped by a beautiful white marble top with subtle veining, harmoniously following the piece’s half-moon shape.
The gilding is entirely original and in excellent condition. It features a superb antique patina, with warm hues slightly softened by time, which beautifully highlights the reliefs and the delicacy of the carvings.
A decorative console table of fine quality, with harmonious proportions, that will naturally find its place in an entryway, a living room, or a home with character.
