Oil on canvas depicting a portrait of Captain Fouquet Dulomboy, from the 19th century.

Fouquet Dulomboy (1757–1822) was a cavalry captain (in the Artois Gendarmerie Regiment) and a Knight of the Royal and Military Order of Saint Louis.

Beginning in 1807, he also served as mayor of the town of Tassily-Saint-Quentin.

He claimed to be a descendant of the famous Superintendent of Finances, Nicolas Fouquet.

The devoted husband: He is best known for having been the husband of the famous Comédie-Française actress, Marie-Élisabeth Joly.

Madly in love with her, he commissioned the construction of the famous neoclassical monument known as the Tomb of Marie Joly on the heights of the Brèche au Diable in Soumont-Saint-Quentin (Calvados) upon her death in 1798.
